Due to the uncertainty across Australia with the COVID-19 pandemic, the ABL has today made the decision to push back the start of the 2021/22 season by a month, now looking for a mid to late December start. The season was originally scheduled to commence on November 18.

The Sydney Blue Sox announced today the re-signing of left-handed hitting Outfielder, Michael Campbell, who will return for his 6th season with the franchise. Campbell is coming off a season that saw him hit above .300 for the third time in five seasons and also added to Australian Olympic Qualifier squad. As a child, Campbell would go to the ABL games at Marathon Stadium to watch the Hunter Eagles play and has vivid memories of that time fighting off other kids for fouls balls. His fondest memories were seeing those ABL players and later getting to know them by either playing against them or with them. Campbell hopes he can create something special for the fans in a similar way this season.

Blue Sox Operations Manager, Jason Pospishil made an announcement today signing fan favourite Jacob Younis for the 2021/22 season. The former Minnesota Twins farmhand returns for his 12th season with the organisation. The experience of 329 games with the boys in blue will prove to be invaluable for the team.
Pospishil was extremely happy re-signing one of the clubs fan favourites. “Jacob has been a fan favourite amongst the Blue Sox fan base for a number of years and he has been part of the furniture throughout his entire ABL career. To have a player of his quality in our clubhouse will play a major impact for our club in 2021/22.”, Pospishil said.

The Sydney Blue Sox today announced Jason ‘Pops’ Pospishil will return in Season 2021/22 in the role of Baseball Operations Manager, primarily responsible for assembling the playing roster and coaching team, and providing all the necessary support to ensure the team as a whole has everything they need to be successful on the field.
