The Future of NSW Baseball Starts With Better Development
Across New South Wales, grassroots baseball participation continues to grow. Clubs and associations provide outstanding foundations for young athletes.
However, there remains a significant gap between community competition and structured, professional development environments.
Players often move from local club baseball directly into representative programs without consistent exposure to modern coaching systems, development benchmarks or measurable feedback. The Sydney Blue Sox Academy has been created to bridge that gap.
The Academy provides a clear, structured step between grassroots participation and advanced pathways, giving committed young athletes access to the standards, methodology and infrastructure of a professional ABL club.
This is not about early specialisation or elite labels.
It is about clarity, consistency and long-term development.
In Partnership with Baseball NSW
The Baseball NSW x Sydney Blue Sox Academy is a dynamic development program that replaces the previous Elite Player Program (EPP) and delivers expanded opportunities for players across New South Wales. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to grow the game in NSW and provide meaningful, accessible development opportunities that strengthen both participation and performance outcomes.
Program Overview
Launch: Term 2, 2026
Duration: Terms 2–4
Format: Weekly structured sessions, delivered by Sydney Blue Sox coaches
In collaboration with Baseball NSW, the Academy runs as a structured youth development program, allowing athletes to integrate club baseball, school commitments and other sports while progressing within a professional framework.

- U12 (starting from age 9)
- U13
- U14
Limited positions are available in each intake to maintain coaching quality and appropriate athlete-to-coach ratios.
Delivered Across NSW
Academy hubs will be established across metropolitan and key regional areas (subject to participation numbers). This statewide delivery model allows the Sydney Blue Sox to align development standards across NSW, strengthen relationships with clubs and improve accessibility for families.
Final hub locations will be confirmed following registration demand.

The Sydney Blue Sox Academy actively encourages multi-sport participation. Well-rounded athletes develop more completely, reduce injury risk and build stronger long-term performance capacity.
